Chargers release punter JK Scott and thirty other players

The Los Angeles Chargers cut punter JK Scott and running back Jaret Patterson on Sunday as part of final roster reductions. The team currently carries no punter on its initial 53-man roster following the release of the veteran, who spent the previous four years with the club. In additional moves, the Chargers placed fullback and defensive lineman Scott Matlock and offensive lineman Branson Taylor on injured reserve with a designation to return. Offensive tackle Isaiah World was moved to the reserve/non-football injury list. The organization also waived 31 other players, including quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and linebacker Junior Colson. The team has not announced further plans at the punter position but could reorganize the roster in the coming days.
