Charges against Vince McMahon officially dismissed in Connecticut court
Summary

Vince McMahon's reckless driving charge from July 2025 has been formally dismissed by a Connecticut court. This follows his successful completion of a one-year accelerated rehabilitation program, requiring him to donate $1,000 and avoid legal trouble. McMahon's case disposition was scheduled for today, and reports confirm the dismissal. The ruling comes amid ongoing legal matters, including an investor lawsuit related to WWE's sale to Endeavor and a civil suit from Janel Grant, which is now in arbitration. McMahon, who resigned from WWE, has launched a production company.

Vince McMahon arrives at Stamford Superior Court on Thursday Morning, October 16, 2025, Stamford, Conn. | H. John Voorhees III/Connecticut Post via Getty Images It didn’t generate as many headlines as Vince McMahon’s legal issues involving alleged wrongdoing in his business and private lives, but his July 2025 reckless driving charge did actually get the former WWE Chairman and CEO into court. That seems like it was probably the biggest “punishment” McMahon incurred for rear-ending another driver while speeding last summer on Connecticut’s Merritt Parkway, a collision which then caused them both to crash their vehicles. Last October McMahon was ordered to a one-year accelerated rehabilitation program. To meet the program’s requirement, he just needed to make a $1,000 charitable donation, only drive while properly licensed and insured, and to not have any new legal trouble for a year. Judge Gary White issued that order Oct. 16 last year, and there was a disposition scheduled for McMahon’s case today at 9 a.m. The court docket isn’t publicly available, but PWInsider reports that the charges against McMahon have now been officially dismissed. The resolution of this case follows the settlement of an investor lawsuit involving McMahon and WWE’s sale to Endeavor, and succeeded in having the sexual trafficking and abuse civil suit brought against him by former girlfriend and WWE employee Janel Grant moved to private arbitration. Since resigning from WWE, the 81-year-old launched a production company. Speculation about a possible return to WWE unfortunately persists.
