Charli Cannon claims first WMX victory after Turner crash

Charli Cannon secured her first Women’s Motocross (WMX) victory on June 20 at Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, after Lachlan Turner crashed late in the race. Cannon struggled in Moto 1 but improved to finish fifth, and her performance in Moto 2, following Turner’s crash, led to a tie in points between the two competitors. Cannon was awarded the overall win based on her better finish in the second moto. Turner experienced a tough weekend, battling illness and suffering a crash that eliminated her from competition for part of the event. Lotte van Drunen finished second overall, improving after an initial mechanical issue.
