Charlie Allison signs a two-year contract extension with Essex

Essex batter Charlie Allison has signed a two-year contract extension, committing his future to the club through the end of the 2028 season. The 21-year-old Colchester native progressed through the Essex academy system before making his first-team debut during the 2023 One Day Cup. Across 22 first-class matches, Allison has recorded 1,394 runs at an average of 39.82, including three centuries and four half-centuries. He has also contributed over 600 runs in the T20 format for the county. Director of cricket Chris Silverwood noted the batter's development in both red and white ball cricket following the announcement. Allison stated his ambition is to help the club secure trophies and provide results for the Essex supporters.
