Tonight’s (July 24) episode of SmackDown featured two more qualifying matches for the 5-way women’s ladder match at SummerSlam, where the winner becomes the interim WWE women’s champion. First up was Chelsea Green vs. Kiana James. Considering that Kiana just did the job for Giulia on this week’s episode of Main Event, it was pretty obvious who was winning this one. Do you remember last week when Flair was a giant dumbass for getting Jax disqualified in a qualifier against Jade Cargill? It was Jade’s turn to be the dumbass this time, as The Baddies interfered to attack Flair and help her win by DQ. If she is allowed to compete in the final qualifying match for getting screwed over yet again, she should probably ask her partner Lash Legend to run in and attack her with the fingerpoke of doom. That way she can qualify for SummerSlam by DQ too. Rhea Ripley is still out injured but she’s a big enough star that WWE didn’t want her to vacate the women’s championship. Instead, they’ll go the UFC route and create an interim title for the roster to fight over while the real champ gets healthy. It creates an obvious match-up when she returns, they unify the titles, you know how it goes. SummerSlam is where an interim champion will be crowned, where five women will have to climb a ladder to grab the title hanging suspended above the ring. Qualifiers have been held to determine the five, and four of them are already set: Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, and Charlotte Flair. Two of those qualifiers featured Nia Jax losing, mostly because she’s been getting screwed over, so he naturally campaigned to be a part of the final qualifier next week. Nope!
