Charlton returns to the Women's Super League for the upcoming season

Charlton is set to compete in the Women's Super League for the first time in 19 years. The club earned its return to the top flight after securing promotion during the 2025/26 season. Previously a powerhouse in the 1990s and 2000s, the women's program was disbanded in 2007 following the men's team's relegation. It was eventually reconstituted and moved back under the club's control in 2021 with Karen Hills appointed as head coach. The team finished the previous campaign after a 27-match unbeaten run and a play-off final victory against Leicester. Charlton begins its new season campaign with a match against Liverpool on Sunday.
