Chelsea books medicals for Welbeck and Henderson ahead of transfers

Chelsea has arranged medicals for Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson as the club seeks experienced reinforcements. Welbeck, a 35-year-old striker, is expected to join from Brighton on a two-year deal, while Henderson, 36, is anticipated to leave Brentford after cancelling his contract. Both players are seen as crucial additions to add maturity and leadership to a Chelsea squad that has struggled with a youthful approach, finishing 10th last season without silverware. The moves reflect manager Xabi Alonso’s shift in strategy towards experienced players to stabilize the team's performance. Final confirmations of the transfers are pending.
