"One week after debuting on Rumble, WWE Main Event returned to the airwaves this week for another episode. Four matches were advertised for the show, including the WWE Women’s Champion and WWE Tag Team Champions in action. Check out the preview Cageside user GM05 posted in the Feed yesterday, find the full episode at the link below, or scroll down a little further to just read what went down on the show! Let’s go! View Link Chelsea Green outlasts Lainey Reid Main Event kicked off with one-third of Fatal Influence and former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Lainey Reid taking on reigning WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green. Lainey was notably flying solo, with Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne nowhere to be found. The less experienced Reid controlled much of the early match until Chelsea turned things around with a flurry of offense. Lainey weathered the storm and got multiple near falls, but Chelsea was too elusive when Reid went for a running knee to put the finishing touches on an upset. Lainey slid out of Chelsea’s first Un-Pretty-Her attempt but couldn’t avoid the second, and the WWE Women’s Champion went on to win. Reaction: Interesting call to have the WWE Women’s Champion opening Main Event. The pessimist in me says it’s because they still don’t necessarily see Chelsea as more than a short-term, transitional champ. On the optimistic side, for their second week on a new platform, featuring someone who is currently over with the audience is a smart move, with the hope of getting more viewers. Chelsea expectedly got a warm reaction from the live crowd in this one and will continue to deal with Judgment Day as Crown Jewel lingers. As for Lainey, this was just her third singles match since being promoted to the main roster, after splitting two contests with Brie Bella over the summer. This match was obviously meant to showcase Green, but Reid asserted herself well and showed she can hack it on her own. Fraxiom is no match for the MFTs After being featured throughout WWE programming in recent weeks, Fraxiom was in action against the WWE Tag Team Champions, MFT, with Haku, of course, joining them. The two teams’ contrasting styles were on display from the opening bell, with Fraxiom doing what they could to speed up the pace at every turn. The former NXT Tag Team Champs seemed to be picking up momentum with a flurry of suicide dives, but Talla caught Nathan Frazer mid-flight, and the Tongans quickly ground that momentum to a screeching halt. After taking a ton of damage from MFT, Frazer rallied for a hot tag to Axiom, who went on a bit of a roll. Fraxiom then tried a tandem top-rope attack on Talla, but Axiom slipped, took a nasty fall, and ended up getting leveled on the outside by a vicious clothesline from Tama. After a choke-bomb and a high-low, the reigning WWE Tag Champs finished off a commanding victory. Reaction: Nathan Frazer and Axiom continue to be the ultimate utility players in the WWE tag team division. In just the last two months, they’ve wrestled on AAA, NXT, SmackDown, and Main Event. The excitement that Fraxiom brings to the table reminds me a lot of London & Kendrick from eons ago, but we’re still waiting for them to get their first big push since getting promoted to the main roster. Wrestling on several brands suggests WWE sees value in the duo, but it’s tough to see them in any high-profile spots anytime soon. As for the MFTs, they’re pretty much just there. Adding Haku has improved their presentation, but like many lower- and mid-card acts on SmackDown, they’ve struggled to gain traction recently, with the loaded main event scene taking up a lot of airtime. With SmackDown likely shifting back to three hours in a few months, the MFTs are an act that could be in line for a more prominent role. Sol beats Candice, snatches her soul, then beats her again After picking up a win over Lyra Valkyria to close last week’s Main Event, Sol Ruca was back in action this week against the Poison Pixie, Candice LeRae. Just seconds after the bell, Ruca rolled Candice up and picked up one of the quickest pinfall victories ever! Candice immediately stormed out of the ring, grabbed a mic, and demanded the match be restarted. Sol didn’t require much convincing and quickly agreed. Candice grabbed control right from the jump, nailing Sol with the microphone as the ref went to call for the bell to restart the match. Sol used some of her standard gymnastic offense to get the upper hand. Sol is absolutely DOMINATING 😮💨🏄♀️ Watch the newest episode of #WWEMainEvent on @rumblevideo NOW! pic.twitter.com/qw6fKXHjkm — WWE (@WWE) October 22, 2026 It was at this point that we were sent to a picture-in-picture commercial break. Yes, even on Rumble, they do picture-in-picture commercials. The match seemed up for grabs, with both ladies down after Sol slid out of a Candice submission and turned it into an electric-chair drop. Sol then quickly picked up momentum, hitting a front dropkick off the middle rope and landing a brutal running knee to Candice’s chest. Sol then went high risk for a splash, but Candice got her knees up, and the pendulum swayed in LeRae’s direction. Candice pulled Sol into the corner for a tornado DDT, but Sol pulled off a crazy reversal, which sent Candice into the splash zone. Ruca ran to the corner and dropped LeRae with a Sol Snatcher to pick up her second win of the night! Reaction: I’m not totally sure what the point of the quick pinfall was here, but the second match was perfectly fine. Vic Joseph mentioned how he views Candice LeRae as one of the most underutilized women on the WWE roster, and I tend to agree. She’s been relegated to watching her husband plank for most of 2026 (this was only her fourth match of the year), but every time she gets a chance to compete, she shows how much of a professional she is. I’d like to see both her and Johnny end up in a better spot on the card after this story with Sami Zayn, but I’m not going to get my hopes up just yet. As for Sol, she picks up a win on Main Event for the second week in a row, this time after a pretty smooth Sol Snatcher, but she seems to fit the “we-don’t-have-any-major-plans-for-you-right-now” category. Exclusives with Bakusai, Penta & Je’Von Evans As they did last week, WWE dropped highlights from last Friday night’s SmackDown before the main event. This time, they followed up with a backstage promo from Bakusai, who will face MFT on SmackDown this week. Shinsuke and Kyoki didn’t really provide much new information, but did urge Tama and Talla to keep their dad at home on Friday, because Haku won’t be able to save them. We then transitioned into highlights from Raw this past Monday, which led us to a Jackie Redmond interview with Penta and Je’Von Evans. After Je’Von helped Penta pick up a huge win over Bron Breakker, Mr. Money in the Bank and the Young OG challenged the entire Vision, with Evans even saying he could get his little sister to take down Maxxine! The exciting duo then reminded us that they outside and have cero miedo. Could Penta and Je’Von be in the mix to challenge for the World Tag Team Titles? You can go ahead and sign me up for that! The Pressure is too much for Otis After a match between Otis and Bronson Reed was advertised, Austin Theory ended up taking on the larger half of Alpha Academy. Logan Paul and Maxxine Dupri accompanied The Pressure to ringside, while Otis’ buddy Tozawa was nowhere to be found. Theory controlled the match early on as Otis got distracted by the rest of The Vision at ringside. OH C’MON @maxxinedupri!!!!! 🤬😫 Watch the newest episode of #WWEMainEvent on @rumblevideo NOW! pic.twitter.com/fvwyrdQjMo — WWE (@WWE) October 22, 2026 The big man barely made it back into the ring to break the ref’s 10-count, but when he did, Theory was ready to pounce. Theory worked Otis over but couldn’t keep him down. Otis survived the onslaught and even took control for a moment, but Maxxine hopped back onto the ring apron to derail his comeback. The distraction allowed Theory to regroup and hit a flying forearm to pick up the win. Reaction: Weird that Otis/Reed was advertised earlier on Wednesday, and the match ended up featuring Austin Theory instead. Come to think of it, I don’t think Bronson was featured on Raw this week either, so hopefully all is good with the big Aus-Zilla. Theory and Maxxine continue to be the prince and princess of Main Event, which I guess is fine. My main takeaway is that I would love to see Penta and Je’Von take the tag titles off of Breakker and Theory to inject some life into the tag division on Raw. That would be a good diversion, letting Penta’s Dinero en el Banco marinate a bit until the right moment to cash it in pops up. Final Thoughts Another solid night of action this week. Nothing earth-shattering, but I appreciate that WWE keeps putting effort into making Main Event matter in the bigger picture. It’s a C-show, so featuring any of their top stars isn’t necessary, but I think the next step would be to include some actual storyline developments, or possibly throw a title match on the card every now and then. Featuring champions is great, but their matches on this week’s show clearly felt like exhibitions, with little doubt about how they’d go.
