Chelsea identifies Roma midfielder Manu Kone as a primary transfer target
Summary

Chelsea has made Roma midfielder Manu Kone a priority target as the summer transfer window approaches its deadline. The 25-year-old French international gained significant attention for his performance during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he helped France reach the semi-finals. Chelsea is pursuing the player to restructure its squad, particularly as Enzo Fernandez is expected to leave the club. While Roma prefers to retain the midfielder, the club has signaled an openness to a transfer if its financial conditions are met. Kone is reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League to progress his career. The player started for Roma in their recent 4-0 Serie A win against Fiorentina and is expected to appear in their upcoming match against Lecce.
