Chelsea signs Melvine Malard from Manchester United for record fee

Chelsea has completed the signing of Melvine Malard from Manchester United, making her the club's most expensive sale. The French forward, who joined United on loan ahead of the 2023/24 season, scored five goals and helped the team win the Adobe Women’s FA Cup. After a successful first season, United committed to a permanent deal with Malard last July, where she scored a total of 16 goals for the club. As Chelsea seeks to strengthen its attack following the departures of Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten, they expect Malard to play a pivotal role in their efforts to reclaim the Women’s Super League title.
