Chelsea targets Adam Wharton amid midfield concerns ahead of January window

Chelsea is exploring the possibility of signing Adam Wharton in January, as the team faces significant challenges in central midfield. With Enzo Fernandez departed and injuries affecting Moises Caicedo, the Blues are keen to bolster their options. Reports suggest that Wharton is highly sought after, with Crystal Palace expected to demand substantial fees. Chelsea's interest has become more pressing with the need for a top-tier midfielder, especially as Manchester City has ruled themselves out of the running after substantial summer expenditures. The likelihood of a successful January move remains uncertain due to the high asking price.
