Chicago Bears expect to sign running back Zavier Scott after Vikings release

The Chicago Bears are expected to sign running back Zavier Scott following his release from the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Vikings reportedly aimed to retain Scott for their practice squad, the veteran running back is trending toward a move to Chicago. Scott spent the 2025 season in Minnesota, appearing in 16 games while recording 32 carries and 14 receptions. His arrival in Chicago could challenge Roschon Johnson for the third running back spot behind D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai. The Vikings chose to keep rookie running back Demond Claiborne and wide receiver Dillon Bell instead of Scott on their initial 53-man roster. The move comes as Chicago head coach Ben Johnson seeks to bolster the team's rushing attack.
