Chicago Bears trade defensive tackle Gervon Dexter to the Atlanta Falcons

The Chicago Bears are trading defensive tackle Gervon Dexter to the Atlanta Falcons. In exchange for the three-year veteran, the Chicago Bears will receive a 2027 fifth-round draft pick and cornerback Clark Phillips III. Dexter, a 2023 second-round selection out of Florida, recorded 11 sacks and 30 quarterback hits over the last two seasons as a full-time starter. The move comes as the Chicago Bears look to reallocate assets on their defensive line. Dexter expressed his gratitude to the Chicago Bears organization in a statement on social media while confirming his excitement to join his new team in Atlanta. The Falcons and the Chicago Bears are scheduled to play each other in Week 6 of the current season.
