Chicago Cubs pitcher Justin Steele is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs this Wednesday. The 31-year-old left-hander has been sidelined since the early stages of the 2025 season after undergoing UCL reconstructive surgery. Steele has successfully completed multiple bullpen sessions, clearing the way for him to begin facing live hitters. While the left-hander will require several appearances in the minor leagues to prepare for his return, he is not expected to build enough arm strength to return to a starter's workload this season.
