Chicago Cubs promote Chase Meyer and Caden Sorrell to High-A South Bend

The Chicago Cubs have promoted right-hander Chase Meyer and outfielder Caden Sorrell from Single-A Myrtle Beach to High-A South Bend. The announcement occurred during the team's current three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. Meyer, selected in the ninth round of the 2026 draft out of West Virginia, recorded a 1.23 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings at the Single-A level. Sorrell, a second-round selection out of Texas A&M, posted a.295 batting average with five home runs and 18 RBI across 22 games. The Cubs are currently the second National League Wild Card team and hold a 5-5 record over their last 10 games. They continue their series against the Brewers on Tuesday evening.
