Chicago Fire loans defender Christopher Cupps to Greenock Morton FC

Chicago Fire FC has loaned 18-year-old defender Christopher Cupps to Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton FC for the remainder of 2026. Cupps, who has made seven appearances for the Fire, including two this season, has also played extensively for the team's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Chicago Fire FC II. Sporting director Gregg Broughton expressed enthusiasm for Cupps' continued development in a challenging new environment. Cupps has represented the United States at various youth levels, most recently starting four matches at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship.
