Chicago State football prepares for inaugural season opener on August 29

Chicago State's football team is gearing up for its inaugural season opener against Roosevelt on August 29 at SeatGeek Stadium. The program, which has been in development since 2023, is the first NCAA Division I football team in Chicago. Athletic director Monique Carroll and head coach Bobby Rome II have been working on building the team and addressing logistics, including equipment, admissions, and housing for around 100 players.
