Chiefs sign Niles King, waive injured rookie Jeff Caldwell

The Kansas City Chiefs signed defensive end Niles King on August 24, 2026, adding depth to their defensive line. King, a rookie from San Diego State, was previously with the Los Angeles Chargers before being waived. With the Aztecs, he recorded 6.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss in the 2025 season. In a corresponding move, the Chiefs waived rookie wide receiver Jeff Caldwell, who has been placed on injured reserve. Caldwell will revert to the team’s Reserve/Injured list if he clears waivers.
