Chiefs waive Chris Oladokun and release Emmanuel Ogbah for 53-man roster

The Kansas City Chiefs finalized their initial 53-man roster on Sunday by releasing defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah and waiving quarterback Chris Oladokun. Oladokun was waived with an injury designation and faces a move to injured reserve if he clears waivers. The team will head into the season with Patrick Mahomes, Justin Fields, and Garrett Nussmeier at the quarterback position. Additionally, the Chiefs parted ways with linebacker Cole Christiansen and cornerbacks Kaiir Elam and Kader Kohou. Defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott remains on the physically unable to perform list, while wide receiver Jimmy Holiday was moved to injured reserve. The organization also waived a large group of players across multiple positions, including defensive linemen, linebackers, wide receivers, running backs, offensive linemen, defensive backs, and tight ends to reach the required roster limit.
