Chris Ballard expects Anthony Richardson to remain with the Colts this season

Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard announced that quarterback Anthony Richardson will stay with the team for the 2026 season. Richardson appeared on the team's initial 53-man roster as the organization prepares for the upcoming campaign. This confirmation arrives despite a trade request filed by Richardson in February. Assistant General Manager Ed Dodds previously noted the team's preference to maintain three capable quarterbacks on the roster throughout the year. Richardson, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, stated that he intends to assist the team in any capacity. His status as a potential backup quarterback suggests his primary focus remains on contributing to the Colts' active roster.
