Chris Boswell records 300th career field goal in Steelers opener

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell reached a career milestone during the 2026 season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. With 8:30 remaining in the first quarter, Boswell converted a 43-yard field goal to reach 300 successful field goals in his NFL career. He added a second field goal from 28 yards out midway through the second quarter. Boswell is the 39th player in NFL history to reach the 300-field goal mark, placing him behind Pat Leahy and Jim Turner on the league's all-time list. Since joining the team in 2015, Boswell has earned two Pro Bowl selections and First-Team All-Pro honors. He remains in pursuit of Gary Anderson to become the franchise's all-time leading scorer, needing 94 points to set the new record.
