As he pressured Haqparast against the fence, he saw the opportunity for a submission and snagged it, dragging Haqparast to the mat and rendering him unconscious just before the buzzer sounded. The official time of the stoppage was 4:59 of Round 3. Padilla (18-6-1) remains undefeated in the UFC, with five wins and a draw against MarQuel Mederos in his previous outing that arguably should have gone his way. On the other side, Haqparast (18-7) has now lost two straight fights and again failed to see the scorecards as he was brutally knocked out by Quillan Salkilld this past October.
