Christian Fuchs quits Newport County before pre-season training begins

Christian Fuchs has left his position as manager of Newport County just ahead of the 2026-27 pre-season. His departure comes two days before the team returns to training, following a seven-month tenure. Fuchs had previously led the team to avoid relegation from League Two after joining when they were bottom of the league. He cited 'many factors' influencing his decision, stating he no longer felt he had much to give. Chris Todd, who assisted Fuchs last season, will take over as interim manager. Newport County prepares for a pre-season friendly against Gloucester City on July 11.
