Christian McCaffrey aims to break NFL receiving yards record

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is being projected to challenge Marshall Faulk's NFL career receiving yards record of 6,875. Currently, McCaffrey has 5,390 career receiving yards and will need at least 750 yards in two seasons or 500 yards over three seasons to surpass the record. He had 924 receiving yards in 2025, his best total since 2019 but faced durability issues in recent seasons, having missed time in 2022 and 2024. Analysts believe McCaffrey's pass-catching capabilities will continue to be a crucial part of the 49ers offense under coach Kyle Shanahan. Faulk's record has stood since 2005.
