Christian McCaffrey's injury raises questions about contract situation with 49ers

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has missed practice for about a week due to reported muscle tightness. Some commentators suggest he might be holding in for a better contract amid increased contracts for other running backs like Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. McCaffrey, in the next-to-last year of his contract, is currently set to earn $12.5 million, with no guaranteed money. Analysts are speculating on whether the 49ers will consider adjustments to his contract given his role in the team's offense and injury history. The situation continues to develop as the preseason progresses.
