CIF Southern Section limits varsity eligibility for prospect Austin Attalah

Five-star offensive lineman Austin Attalah has been denied varsity eligibility by the CIF Southern Section following his transfer to Orange Lutheran. The governing body ruled on Wednesday, Sept. 2, that the Texas Tech commit is permitted to participate only in junior varsity football or lower levels for the current school year. Attalah transferred to Orange Lutheran from Cajon. The player and his family are preparing to file an appeal of the ruling through the CIF State office. Attalah, who committed to Texas Tech on Aug. 27, has not yet played for his new team. Orange Lutheran is scheduled to compete against Basha on the evening of Sept. 4.
