Cincinnati Reds designate Sam Moll for assignment and activate Graham Ashcraft

The Cincinnati Reds designated left-handed relief pitcher Sam Moll for assignment on September 6. The move coincides with the return of Graham Ashcraft from the 60-day injured list. Ashcraft had been sidelined since May due to a UCL sprain, opting for a platelet-rich plasma injection rather than surgery. Moll concludes his tenure with the club after making 161 relief appearances since joining at the 2023 trade deadline. This season, Moll held a 2-7 record with a 4.79 ERA across 65 games. Ashcraft, who recorded a 1-1 record and a 3.33 ERA in 26 appearances this year, joins the bullpen for the final three weeks of the regular season.
