Cincinnati Reds promote prospect Carlos Jorge to major league roster

The Cincinnati Reds are promoting 22-year-old outfielder Carlos Jorge to the major league roster. Jorge, currently ranked as the team’s No. 16 prospect, joins the club following a productive campaign in the minor leagues. Between stints with Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville, the outfielder maintained a.308 batting average with eight home runs and 43 RBIs. He also demonstrated speed on the basepaths, successfully stealing 33 of 38 bases this season. Originally signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2020, Jorge provides the Cincinnati organization with defensive versatility. He is capable of playing all three outfield positions as well as second base. The move marks a transition to the major league level as the season reaches its final stages.
