The severity of the injury remains uncertain following his exit from the contest. At the time he was removed, the Reds held a 7-3 lead and shifted second baseman Matt McLain to the shortstop position to finish the inning. This physical concern follows an earlier health setback this season for De La Cruz, who missed nearly four weeks in June while recovering from a right hamstring strain. That June absence marked the first time the infielder had been placed on the injured list during his professional career.
