Cincinnati Reds sign former Braves pitcher Darius Vines to minor-league deal

The Cincinnati Reds have signed Darius Vines, a right-handed pitcher previously with the Atlanta Braves, to a minor-league contract. Vines, who has been assigned to Triple-A Louisville, was released by Acereros del Norte in the Mexican League shortly before joining the Reds. Over two MLB seasons, he posted a 5.82 ERA in nine appearances for the Braves and achieved a 3.32 ERA in 15 starts in the Mexican League. Vines previously debuted at Coors Field in August 2023, becoming the first visiting pitcher to achieve a notable six-inning performance there.
