C.J. Stroud faces challenges heading into fourth season with Texans

Summary

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud enters the 2026 season after an underwhelming playoff performance. Despite showing competency in previous years, he has yet to reach 25 touchdown passes, and concerns surround his supporting cast. With key receiver Jayden Higgins sidelined for the season due to an ACL tear, Stroud's options are limited. The Texans' conservative play-calling suggests they are focused on low-scoring games, making it difficult for Stroud to produce strong fantasy numbers. Analysts recommend treating him as a low-ceiling QB2 in Superflex leagues.
