Claire Wetick earns Gatorade Tennessee Girls Track and Field Player of the Year honors

Claire Wetick of St. Agnes Academy has been named the Gatorade Tennessee Girls Track and Field Player of the Year for 2026. Wetick excelled this season, winning the TSSAA Division II-A state championship in pole vault with a personal best of 13 feet, 8 inches. She also achieved strong finishes in the hurdles, securing second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Wetick maintained a 4.82 GPA and actively participated in her school’s Student Government Association, showing leadership in community efforts. Following the state season, she finished second in pole vault at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon.
