Clarke Central set to start season at Corky Kell Classic

Clarke Central football opens its season against Pebblebrook at the 35th annual Corky Kell Classic on August 19 at 4:30 p.m. The game will take place at Kell High School in Marietta. Clarke Central did not play Pebblebrook in the last 20 years, with their last matchups in 1996 and 2006. Last season, the Gladiators finished with a 6-6 record and made it to the second round of the state playoffs under head coach David Perno, who begins his 11th season. Pebblebrook comes off a 3-7 season under first-year coach Rodney Hackney.
