Clemson defeats Georgia Southern 22-7 behind five Nolan Hauser field goals

Clemson moved to 1-1 on the season following a 22-7 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday night. The victory occurred despite an injury to quarterback Christopher Vizzina, who left the game with a left arm injury and did not return. Freshman Tait Reynolds stepped in to complete 16 of 27 passes for 178 yards while adding 36 rushing yards. Kicker Nolan Hauser provided a significant portion of the offensive output, converting five field goals on six attempts to tie his career high. Defensively, the Tigers held Georgia Southern to 266 total yards and 22 rushing yards. The offense struggled at times, surrendering 11 tackles for loss and two sacks throughout the contest. Clemson now turns its attention to a home matchup against North Carolina scheduled for next week.
