Clemson University has produced three players drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. Ed Brinkley was selected in the 1958 draft but did not play in the NBA after averaging 9.9 points and seven rebounds during his time at Clemson. Randy Mahaffey was chosen in the 1967 NBA Draft, opting instead for the ABA, where he averaged 11.9 points per game. Elden Campbell was picked 27th overall in the 1990 draft and played nine seasons with the Lakers, averaging 10.4 points and winning an NBA championship with the Detroit Pistons in 2004.
