Cleveland Browns keep Dillon Gabriel on roster after strong preseason performance

The Cleveland Browns are retaining quarterback Dillon Gabriel on the team roster to provide depth at the position. Gabriel produced 186 passing yards and three touchdowns during the preseason finale. Head coach Todd Monken praised Gabriel’s mental grasp of the playbook and his on-field confidence. Monken noted that Gabriel operates with an awareness that mimics the role of a coach. Although the team plans to utilize him in the quarterback rotation, Gabriel will currently remain unavailable to play due to his placement on injured reserve. His presence during his recovery period is expected to serve as a resource for other quarterbacks on the roster.
