Cleveland Browns prepare for season opener as rookie receiver buzz grows

The Cleveland Browns are finalizing preparations for their Week 1 regular-season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 13. General manager Andrew Berry continued roster adjustments this week, adding a receiver and a defensive end to the group. Offensive attention centers on rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, both of whom generated positive internal momentum during training camp and preseason play. Quarterback Deshaun Watson is set to make his first regular-season start since 2024, working under an offense directed by Todd Monken. The team enters the matchup with a week-to-week approach to leadership, with Monken designating captains on a game-by-game basis. Offensive tackle Spencer Fano is preparing for his professional debut, focusing on film study of Jacksonville defensive player Josh Hines-Allen.
