Cleveland Browns sign Jaleel McLaughlin to the team practice squad

The Cleveland Browns added running back Jaleel McLaughlin to their practice squad on September 1, 2026. McLaughlin was released by the Denver Broncos on Sunday after failing to secure a spot on the 53-man roster during training camp. Although he appeared in 41 games for Denver over the last three seasons, Head Coach Sean Payton indicated that special teams contributions played a significant role in final roster decisions. McLaughlin remained unclaimed on the waiver wire before agreeing to terms in Cleveland. He joins a depth chart currently occupied by Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, and Raheim Sanders. The move reunites the running back with a region where he played his collegiate career at Notre Dame and Youngstown State.
