Cleveland Cavaliers re-sign veteran guard James Harden to multi-year contract

The Cleveland Cavaliers officially re-signed guard James Harden to a multi-year contract on September 8, 2026. Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman announced the move following a season in which the 17-year veteran split time between the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland. Harden appeared in 70 games total during the previous campaign, including 26 contests as a member of the Cavaliers. Across his stint in Cleveland, he recorded averages of 20.5 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game. Throughout the full season, Harden maintained a career-best.884 free-throw percentage and converted 215 three-pointers. He enters the upcoming season with extensive experience, having previously reached at least 200 made three-pointers in eight different seasons of his career.
