Cleveland Cavaliers sign center Khalifa Diop

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced the signing of center Khalifa Diop on September 2, 2026. Diop, a 24-year-old standing 6-foot-11 and weighing 231 pounds, was previously selected by Cleveland with the 39th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He spent the last three seasons playing for Saski Baskonia in Spain’s Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. During the 2025-26 campaign, Diop participated in 47 games for Baskonia, starting 38 of them. He recorded averages of 3.8 points on.670 shooting from the field, 4.2 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game over 16.4 minutes of play. His tenure in Europe included a 2026 Copa del Rey title and a 2023 EuroCup championship.
