Cleveland Guardians designate Stuart Fairchild for assignment

Summary

Stuart Fairchild has been designated for assignment by the Cleveland Guardians following a roster move to select Cooper Ingle from Columbus. Fairchild has struggled this season, batting.158 with three hits and one RBI over 14 games. Previously, he played for the Atlanta Braves, appearing in 28 games last year. The Guardians’ decision comes as they finish a series against the San Francisco Giants, with their last game tied at 1-1 and a recent loss to the Giants by a score of 5-0. It remains uncertain if Fairchild will be claimed by another team or return to Triple-A.
