The Los Angeles Clippers selected guard Keaton Wagler as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft on June 24. Acquired through the Ivica Zubac trade, the Clippers aimed to capitalize on the draft's deep talent pool. Wagler, notable for his shooting and ball handling, led Illinois to the Final Four and shot 38% on both pull-up and catch-and-shoot three-pointers. Despite concerns over his physical frame, the Clippers believe Wagler has the potential to become a future All-Star if he can develop his strength. His versatility could position him alongside current players like Darius Garland or Kawhi Leonard.

- •The Clippers acquired the pick in a trade with the Lakers.
- •He has strong shooting skills, particularly from beyond the arc.
