Clwb Rygbi Caernarfon earns UK rugby kitchen of the year award

Clwb Rygbi Caernarfon has been named the UK’s Rugby Kitchen of the Year, securing the honor ahead of hundreds of other entrants. The Welsh club was selected by a judging panel featuring prominent chefs and rugby figures, with French chef Pierre Koffmann casting the deciding vote. Head of the kitchen Keith Parry, who has volunteered at the club for over 50 years, leads a team that feeds hundreds of youth players and visitors each weekend. The prize package includes a year’s supply of Koffmann’s chips and new equipment from Rhino Rugby. Parry, 84, continues to support the club through various roles, including stewarding and pitch maintenance. The initiative, organized by Rugby Journal in partnership with industry sponsors, aimed to recognize the efforts of volunteers who support players and supporters on match days.
