Top rumor: WWE & AEW title changes While speaking on the two major recent title changes in the top two companies in pro wrestling in the States right now, WWE and AEW, Fightful Select had a few noteworthy items. First, there was no real uproar behind-the-scenes in response to CM Punk winning the WWE championship from Sami Zayn. Some folks may have rolled their eyes but this isn’t 2023 anymore and the sentiment of that time has largely passed. He’s a major star who plays a hugely important role within the promotion, and that’s been accepted by all. On the other side, Kenny Omega defeated MJF to win the AEW world championship on Dynamite just days later. The word there is that the one had nothing to do with the other, despite some claiming the Omega win was an attempt to steal some thunder from Punk’s big victory. This switch was in the works for months, they say, even before Zayn ever won the WWE championship. Other rumors floating around In the same vlog he claimed to be considering buying the WWE corporate jet, Logan Paul said he’s “months” ahead of his recovery time for his torn triceps. According to Fightful Select, Jack Perry signing his AEW contract on Dynamite was a shoot. The deal he signed was his actual contract and he had yet to officially put pen to paper before that. Per the Observer, Komander’s Visa issues have been completely settled and he’s available to work in AEW on a permanent basis moving forward. Richard Holliday furthered talk he’s signing with WWE by posting a pic at “NXT Coffee Shop” before a GCW event where he left his boots in the ring and seemed to say goodbye. TNA moved the start time for Lockdown because the response to Slammiversary’s earlier than normal start time was so positive, says PW Insider. It’s not clear, however, if this will be the new normal.
