CM Punk to appear in SES mask at AAA Worlds Collide event

When AEW decided to run Chicago for its All Out pay-per-view on Sept. 26 at the Now Arena, WWE was quick to book the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on the very same evening for its Worlds Collide event, a cross promotional showcase featuring AAA, NXT, and now WWE. It’s too early for any matches to be announced for the event but one major part of the early promotion for the show has been a few teases that current WWE Champion CM Punk could make an appearance, possibly wearing his old Straight Edge Society mask. Well, that stopped being a tease today after a vignette aired during the Ola de Calor show that straight up gave away that we are indeed getting Punk back under the mask for the show: CM PUNK IS BRINGING BACK THE STRAIGHT EDGE SOCIETY MASK FOR HIS APPEARANCE AT WORLDS COLLIDE 🔥#AAAOlaDeCalor pic.twitter.com/tMVj01GlyK — FADE (@FadeAwayMedia) August 30, 2026 It’s hard to imagine WWE would book him for an appearance with the mask and the man himself wouldn’t push to actually work a match. After all, he’s even done NXT house shows because he “needs the reps,” as he put it. Either way, WWE is breaking out the big guns to counter program AEW once again, and doing it with Punk in this manner, in this city, is an especially targeted shot.
