Coach Brian Fruscio undergoes rehabilitation after suffering five strokes

Longtime basketball coach Brian Fruscio is recovering after suffering five strokes last month following a trip to France. The Watervliet native and former Albany Academy coach spent time in a medically induced coma during his hospitalization on Long Island. Fruscio, who recently coached at the Canterbury School, has shown significant improvement and is currently undergoing local rehabilitation. Colleagues and former players, including Brian Beaury and Rich Hurley, have expressed support as he shifts his focus toward personal health and recovery. A GoFundMe page has been established to assist the family with the rising costs of medical care, therapy, and ongoing rehabilitation expenses.
