Coco Gauff produces documentary on tennis pioneer Zina Garrison

Coco Gauff is executive producing a documentary on former professional tennis player Zina Garrison. Garrison, a Wimbledon finalist in 1990 and a two-time Olympic medalist, has maintained a long association with professional tennis since her retirement in 1996. Gauff identified Garrison as a cultural influence who paved the way for Black tennis players. The two met last year, with Gauff later contacting the veteran regarding the film project. Garrison is currently serving as a commentator for US Open Radio at Flushing Meadows. She previously captained the U.S. Fed Cup team and mentored players including Serena Williams.
