Cody Rhodes speaks to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on July 23, 2026. | (Photo by Todd Owyoung/NBC) Cody Rhodes appeared on The Tonight Show on Thursday (July 23), and during his talk with Jimmy Fallon, he suggested the talk show host get involved in his match at SummerSlam. In fact, Rhodes said he would hold his opponent, CM Punk, so that Fallon could chop the Undisputed WWE Champion. The two got on the subject after Fallon brought up the prospect of Tom Brady making an appearance in WWE, which led to Rhodes noting that stars outside of the wrestling world often end up in his storylines. “A lot of the celebrities and people who want to cross into wrestling, or do some sort of merging of worlds, I feel like they always get involved in my stuff,” Rhodes said before naming Travis Scott and Pat McAfee as examples. Cody then said celebrities don’t always have to “fully wrestle” before pointing to Fallon. “You come to the show — prime example,” he said. “I hook old Cookie Monster Punk, right? I hook his arms like this.” “CM Punk,” Fallon said with a chuckle. “Cookie Monster Punk.” “CM Punk. Chick Magnet, Chaos Magnet, Constantly Miserable, Cookie Monster,” Rhodes replied before continuing: “Right now, he’s the best in the world. He’s WWE Champion. “But I hook his arms, I turn to you, just give him a nice open chop right on the chest. The place reacts, they clap, and that’s all. You get Hall of Fame run after that,” The American Nightmare said. “Not everyone has to be full-blown. They don’t have to do the full thing. Let me do that.” The segment continued with Fallon showing Rhodes photos of celebrities and asking if they could be WWE stars. He began with Norwegian soccer player Erling Haaland, to which Rhodes said that with his hair, they could do “a cousin thing.” When asked about Spider-Man star Tom Holland, Rhodes demurred, saying he enjoyed his movies too much and thus didn’t want the actor hurt. Rhodes went on to approve Fallon’s other suggestions of Travis Kelce and Jason Momoa for the wrestling ring. What do you think, Cagesiders?
