Cody Walker nears one-year extension with Rabbitohs amid rival interest

Cody Walker is close to finalizing a one-year contract extension with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Negotiations intensified following an initial low offer from the club that Walker's management found unsatisfactory. Despite interest from the Perth Bears and an unnamed Super League team, Walker has expressed a desire to remain with the Rabbitohs, where he has spent his entire NRL career since 2016. The 36-year-old playmaker had a productive 2026 season, contributing significantly to the team's offense. An official announcement regarding his contract status is expected soon.
