College football ticket demand remains low for the 2026 opening weekend

The college football season begins Thursday with a relatively soft resale market for ticket prices. Only two matchups feature a get-in price exceeding $100 as of Thursday morning. The Wisconsin–Notre Dame game at Lambeau Field leads the market at $170, while the Clemson–LSU game in Baton Rouge sits at $110. Other Week 1 games, such as Washington State–Washington and Colorado–Georgia Tech, maintain significantly lower entry costs compared to previous seasons. Demand is expected to rise sharply for Week 2, when No. 1 Ohio State travels to face No. 5 Texas in a sold-out game with a current get-in price of $528. Broadcasters continue to track audience interest after last year’s Texas–Ohio State matchup drew record viewership.
